The bladder volume is = +/- age x 30 + 30 ml
For example a 5-year-old bladder =180 ml, the age when 90% of children should be dry at both day and night.
The ability to hold in your wee is determined by a functioning brain, spine and urinary tract. Therefore bedwetting (enuresis) in girls over the age of 4 years old and boys over the age of 6 years old should be assessed, investigated and potentially treated.
