Lungs can wheeze, crackle, cough and pain when under attack. Respiratory tract infections are a regular occurrence in childhood (and adulthood) and are usually best managed with nasal saline, rest and fluids and love. BUT you should seek help when:
- Your child is younger than 6 months of age with an obstructed nose and cough
- Breathing rapidly or grunting while breathing
- Persistent cough
- Uncontrolled fever
- Contact with severe lung conditions, e.g. Tuberculosis
