Seizures

Seizures or Febrile Fits are most commonly seen with a fever. These are known as febrile convulsions but will need an assessment to diagnose or exclude epilepsy.  they can present in many various forms:

  • Localised or focal TIC’s in a limb
  • Generalized whole body jerks with loss of consciousness
  • Brief moments of absence
  • Falling to the ground

All forms need a careful examination, investigation and potentially a specialist review with treatment.
