Thrush is a common term for infection of the intestinal tract from mouth to arms and beyond by Candida Albicans, a hardy fungus that does love a weak immune system (baby), good nutrition (milk) and the presence of foreign bodies (dummies and teats). Sterilisation especially with steam and rubbing teats and dummies with salt helps prevent thrush. It often requires treatment with topical (oral or napkin) antifungals and never forget to treat mom if breastfeeding.
